The Eustachian tubes connect the middle ear to the back of the nose and the upper throat. Their main function is to equalize pressure and drain fluid from the ear. When they function normally, these tubes open when swallowing or yawning. However, these tubes can become blocked, impairing function, leading to a condition called Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD). This leads to symptoms like chronic ear pressure, discomfort, and recurring ear infections.
Here at New England Breathe Free, our team specializes in diagnosing and treating ENT disorders like ETD.
